Johnny, its called rationalization. He is simply placing the blame anywhere he can to make himself feel justified for his actions. His condition was purely a bad mental state. When you are insane, most of your thinkings are askew. Taking them literally is simply illogical.

everyone tries to blame something for people killing someone.
it's obvious, he suggested he was mistreated a lot in the video, and he hates rich people who, btw, commonly think they're better than others. His troublesome mental state paired with being treated like ---- for years, so he took his anger out on some people.
it's not the liberals, guns, games, movies, music, parents, school, or whoever else you want to blame
it's a pissed off kid with a mental problem

He was not, and probably wasn't for many years before, in a mental state to be put into a such a free environment as college, or even the world. Campuses are like cities, and even in cities if someone wants to shoot a crowd of people they will do it. It's extremely difficult to lockdown a campus, especially one as large as Tech. There's no PA system, all that could be done is having something posted on the school's website or sent out emails. If there's a shooting in a hall even 3 blocks away here at JMU the only people that would know are those in the building, and those people would be cowering in the corners not walking around telling people about it (save cell phone use). With the windows closed these massive stone and concrete buildings insulate everything. I aree that more should have been done on the part of Tech's security, but here at JMU we have minimal security at best. We have 10 or so police cars at the little piece of ---- JMU PD station, and that's to cover 13,000+ people, half of Harrisonburg's population. But even so I am positive he had signs of schizophrenia earlier on maybe even into his childhood. He was probably one of the kids that would stomp on puppies and punt kittens and ----, which is why he should've never been given the opportunity to be in a free environment. I place blame almost solely on the parents.
