real safe. the only thing that keeps me safe is my 45

Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hincker was happy to hear the bill was defeated. "I'm sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly's actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus."
good one larry

first thing those disgusting socialists at MSNBC did it print a story about how the sunsetted "ban" on manufacture of high capacity "clips" (they are magazines not clips) was to blame for this!

he would've only killed 28 people if he had to reload one more time

Last spring a Virginia Tech student was disciplined for bringing a handgun to class, despite having a concealed handgun permit. Some gun owners questioned the university's authority, while the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police came out against the presence of guns on campus.

In June, Tech's governing board approved a violence prevention policy reiterating its ban on students or employees carrying guns and prohibiting visitors from bringing them into campus facilities.

my point my friend and i did read was still has nothing to do with what happen. even if someone was able to carry a gun you think thats going to stop him from shooting anyone? yeah maybe someone can fire back but he prob still get off a couple kills before someone shot the mother ******. so what that makes the body count less than thirty but someone still going to die. but lets be realistic. can you honestly want to go to a university were its ok to carry a gun? its a school not the ------- military.

nobody wants to live in a world were you can walk in a library, pool, theater, school, or party were you can carry guns. I can understand carrying it for protection but they are pushing in a public place were people go for certain events were they don't want to worry about someone having a gun thats the point.

and pointing the blame on liberals or gun control is just scapegoating. you dont sound any better than the ones blaming movies or music. ---- happens and there are fucked up people. if someone isn't right in the head and wants to kill someone its because someone isn't right in the head. stop blaming other people or things on one person actions

Would you honestly like to be one of the unarmed people at the school while a lunatic has open season on your dome?

Just the point of people being able to carry guns wherever they want would make *some* lunatics think twice. Carrying a gun to class is never going to be popular, but if there's a chance someone will lay you out you might think twice about shooting the place up. Instead, we have the school telling wacko criminals "hey, this is a gun free zone. Make a path"

i know you hate liberals steve :P

no honestly i wouldn't want to be in a situation were i believe its safe and the purpose for me to be in a university is to graduate not worry to be strap or not because someone might come in and seek revenge on the world.

Im all for carrying protection but not in places were i've come to just learn. Its a school. even if so you can you think he prob the only fucked up person in the head at the university? ---- i hate to go to a school were they say "hey its ok to carry guns for protection" and have one of them crazy heads get pissed of one day and use the gun for the wrong reason.

seriously its a no win situation on the matter on which is right or wrong but the favor in the solution is to just not have guns at all

id love for it to be legal to carry a gun on me. Doesnt stop the fact that I keep one with me though. you know what, its the schools fault, everyone should have been wearing bulletproof vests, then everyone would have been perfectly safe. ------ school, cmon now.

This is just a sad situation in general. I have no doubt that liberals will be calling for more handgun restrictions.

If everyone had the right to be armed, and we do. So rather, if the right was not taken from us as it is, then there would be less violent crimes like this. They do sureys of criminals all the time about this.

Q: What do you fear the most in a potential victim?
A: The chance of them being armed or resisting.

I can't wait til people start to talk about ways of stopping this stuff from happening. There is simply no way to stop it. More gun legislation only pertains to law abiding citizens. Obviously that is not this guy that shot the place up.

Just like all "crimes of passion", there is no way to avoid them. So just stop trying. Accept that in a "free" society that things like this can happen.
