whats the proof the s2k is stock. and there are a lot more ls1 cars than s2ks making it actually matter. nobody wants to ruin their hows my hair mobile....the same applies for what your saying. and i bet there are a lot more stock block ls1s making more power than stock block f20s. lets not get rediculous now. maybe you should take that money and go buy one

It happens all the time a local performance shop installs Twin turbo kits on base modle vetts that make 650whp at 10psi and a local Dealership sells them with a full warranty

I dont know about the car as a whole. My experience is purely with the engine. I know that no modern GM engine has a planned obsolescence of anything near 100k. Maybe the older products did but i really dont now about anything pre LS series. I know even back in the early 90's with the LT5 (which was designed and built by my previous employer) that is had a much longer life expectancy than 100k.

There is a reason the early Honda's lasted so long. When Mr. Honda released his first product in America it was a total failure. It was a small displacement motorcycle that had almost a 100% failure rate. The problem was that it was designed by the Japanese for the Japanese and over there it rarely exceeded 25 mph and there was very little wide open throttle due to the traffic congestion in the cities which was where it was primarily used. When the Americans received and used them it was much different. They would hop on and rail on the thing for miles. When they started coming back in such large quantities Mr. Honda came over to America to see what the problem was. Once he realized that the product they were selling needed to do it was totally redesigned and it took Honda a while to overcome its previous reputation. This led to a period of over designing and engineering their products to last far longer than a normal vehicle.

The problem with making something last too long is that once everyone has one you dont sell any more. Just like a light bulb...they could make it last forever....but they dont. Honda has realized that its not profitable to make a product that lasts so long and as confirmed with my discussion with a Honda of America representative who works at the Anna Engine Plant last night at an info session. The new engines are made to last to the end of their warranty. That doesn't mean it wont last longer but thats all they really care about. You can even see it today....the K series isn't anywhere as reliable as the old D or B series.

It seems that Honda started with a product that was too reliable and is now moving away from that. Conversely, GM had a period of low quality which drove customers away and now they are moving to a period where quality is of higher importance.

In the end its about money. You need to sell cars and you cant sell many by making one last forever but your not going to sell a car that doesn't last long enough. Its a fine line.

I love honda....i always will. But i feel the GM of today makes a damn good product too. I just hope they can break their reputation of bad quality from the 80's and 90's in time to survive.

ill bring out the " youre a retard" card. and i have tons of proof. that proof is everyone on this forum.

so 1 car is making a ton of power, which is hard to believe its making 865 torque on only 13.5psi on a 76MM turbo. whatever its still only 1 car and im still right about a bigger motor being less stressed at that power level.
