ricers love to compare malibus against lexus. YOU SHOULD COMPARE THE PRICE FIRST. of course a malibu or impala is going to have worse interior than something that costs at least 10k more.
if you compare the cars in the same price range they are very similar.
Now on the other hand my friend has a 99 camaro and its interior is as tight as a 13 year old little girl.
