Why can't they be compared? Because the vette is faster?
I get tired of excuses on why one car can't be compared with another. We could argue it's not fair to compare the corvette with the gtr because it doesn't have turbochargers or because it isn't awd. The only way you can possibly have an apples-to-apples comparison with cars is if they have the exact same engine size, number of cylinders, price, weight, etc etc - basically the exact same car.
Well this is the real world (not the tuner one). You can get a z06 for cheaper (fact, don't throw up MSRP because it doesn't matter), it has more displacement/cylinders/potential (fact), it is lighter (fact), and it looks better (opinion).
We can all sit here and bitch back and forth about two cars that nobody here will probably have any time soon (if ever). In the video, the vette won. It could just be driver error that allowed that (like I said a long time ago), or could just be that the corvette is faster.
If you like the GTR, great. I think they're both awesome cars, but I'd personally choose the vette.
Quit saying they can't be compared when you're arguing that the GTR is superior. If the GTR would have won in this video, I bet money that you would have no problem comparing the two.

the c&d is opinion not fact. the GTR is slow. the z06 beats it off the line and from a roll and with a competent driver around a track. the srt10 straight up murders it in the 1/4 and around a track with a competent driver
every yahoo with 70k traps 126mph in the z06. the mag testers trap 116 in the GTR. 10 ------- mph is what 5 bus lengths?
did that video from a roll look like .1 seconds? gimme a break. soon there will be a video of a z06 vs GTR at the drag strip and it will be a slaughter.
a z06 has run 10.85@127 on the drag radials.

nissan did build the GTR to compete with the z06. and even if they didn't it costs the same so its competing.
the c6 base model vs a GTR would be a good drag race.
the z06 and GTR cost roughly the same, they are competitors weather you like it or not.
if the GTR ever gets out to the track, and it gets stomped repeatedly by z06s. what will you say then? more excuses? all you ricers claimed for months that the GTR is faster than the z06. we all knew the arabs would make a video eventually.
