its basically impossible to do what you want with a floor jack, i suppose you could lift the engine up on the pan, and then put some jackstands under it, fully raised jackstands with cinder blocks on top so they'll reach the motor. but i dunno where you would have the jacks hold the motor up from... LOl cause you gotta take the pan off.

but its your life not mine, i wouldnt do that.

If you do that, you stand a very good chance of damaging the harmonic dampner, pulley and the end of the crank.
Seriously.
Secondly, don't even consider using a cinder block for holding up anything. They have zero yield and could collapse instantly with a load on them. Buy some cheap HF jack stands at the minmum. To pull the pan, the best option is to get a cherry picker/engine hoist. Even if you have to just rent one for a couple of days, you'll be much better off.

Yes, you can unbolt the k-member (and all the stuff attached to it and the body) but you'll have to support the engine with either the engine hoist or a strong beam straddling the strut towers. Either way, it's a stone cold bitch of a job.

So far you've done an impressive job with what you have to work with. I'd still suggest finding someway of moving that drivers' side down pipe away from your master cylinder/brake lines. Cooking the fluid or baking a cup in your master cylinder wouldn't be very cool.

I took the oil pan off my 89 with the motor in the car. You need to raise the engine up off the mounts (You can put a block of wood under the oil pan jack it up from there and then put some wood between the engine and the motor mounts), remove the steering rack, uncouple the steering, remove the exhaust. It is a pain but it can be done. The shavings aside, what were you going to do with that drilled hole? There really is not alot of depth there to tap into.

IM going to run oil though the car and filter i bought a punch and some magnets to grab whats in the pan

just find someone to help you lift the engine and pull the oil pan off, someone just said you can do it with the engine in the car..

do you really want to waste all that time and effort because you were too lazy to pull the pan?
