impressive, you broke something i havent

you still no a guy for inspections? 3" of straightpiped turbo bimmer will need NY approval this summer

The block looks fine. I bought the head used. I learned that the cam caps are not interchangable. If I would have known this I would have had the machine shop inspect it and correct it. Next time I would have the machine shop line bore it, or inspect it at least. Im not mad, I take it as a lesson learned.

I thought it was strange also, but the machine shop told me it was quite common.
I just go to the South Bronx there are a lot of shops that do them on the spot.

I noticed the rear main seal was leaking, so, tomorrow I'll pull the trans to get a good look at it.

This is the first motor that I assembled by myself. I am learning that it is not as easy as it looks.

In the pic #30 is the seal, and #7 is the cover. I had not pressed the seal into the cover deep enough to make it bottom out.
I had the machine shop press it in, hopefully now it will not leak anymore.

Also, I dropped off my manifold and turbo exhaust housing to get ceramic coated. Ill post pics when they are done.
