You know i really wish he would chime in as im defending his ride, that being said i assume he means he doesnt need to grab a gear and get on it cause it's in teh power band already, he eases into it and voila, ...no need to pound on it and use tons of ------- FUEL.....

Ok I'm officially done with this thread. Arguing with morons who don't know what they are talking about is a waste of time

1988 Mustang: 225 hp @ 4200 rpm 300 ft-lbs @ 3200 rpm

1996 Mustang: 215 hp @ 4400 rpm 285 ft-lbs @ 3500 rpm

Look at the incredible difference!!!!!!!!!!!!1

why are you even defending a car that is not even yours and you never even drove. Your just speaking off of what RS is saying really not actually experience what he actually claims. I find it just hard to believe that his turbo sports car makes as good gas mileage as my economy car. Boy with these high gas prices I need to start buying 5.0 mustangs and boost them to save money on gas

Like i said before, i have been there, i had a stang, with light mods, and on teh highway there really wasnt any big difference in mileage between that and my coupe, i pound the ---- out of the honda due to it be so underpowered, i could be gentle on the stang to get the same results, and whitey, you can look past those numbers all day, you are still two or three hundred rpm higher and have less hp and torque, not to mention the sn95 is a heavy ------- car no matter what book says what, it' sa simple math fact, big car, smaller motor, higher powerband, this isnt ------- rocket science here, why the ---- do you hear about guys running 4.10 and even 4.56's in the sn95, cause it's a big pig to get rolling, jesus, im not knocking your car so get your panties out of your mouth and relax, teh sn95 is a much better car then the fox's and the mod motor works very well and takes to boost like a ----------er, they love forced induction do to better breathing.....all i was saying in the begining is that i have been there and experienced exactly what he was saying......all this fighting is due to ------- arab's and oil prices...if gas was cheap then this thread wouldnt exist...let's fight about that for awhile k?...jesus....

To sum this thread up and put it to an end:

The bigger the motor = the better the gas mileage

The smaller the motor = the worse the gas mileage

and 4.10 rear gears were invented only for the SN95 becuase they are so heavy they can barely move. Fox bodies never run 4.10's or 4.56's.

Ok now everyone's in agreement. we can end this

Don't blame the Arabs. Exxon Mobile made $10 billion profit for the fourth quarter ending 2005, and Shell LLC made $9 billion. In my opinion, greed is the cause for high gas prices.

my odometer works correctly. i drove 80 miles round trip today. mapquest says one way is 38.35miles so... yes my odometer works.

already had 8 miles on my trip odometer. 88.8miles

i put 15 bucks in. $2.41 a gallon

15 / 2.41 = 6.22 gallons

88.8 / 6.22 = 14.27mpg

and i still have little more than 1/4 tank left.

15 bucks put my gas gauge from below E to half a tank.

6.22 / 2 = 3.11

88.8 / 3.11 = 28.55mpg (estimated)

so counting the 8 miles on my odometer before i left this morning, then the 80.8 i put on it driving to school and back today. i used 1/4 a tank of gas.

88.8 miles on 1/4 tank

and YES i was being extremely easy on it today

http://www.mapquest.com/directions/m...&2z=97218-2852

if you want to trust mapquest over my tripometer

mapquest says 38.35 miles

38.35 x 2 = 76.70 miles + 8 miles that were on it before i left

84.7 miles / 3.11 gallons = 27.23mpg
