Put a manual transmission with 4.11's on it and see if you still get the same gas mileage. You motor is .3L bigger than mine

sooo ummmmmmm whats your point. ya of course the mileage is going to suffer if i had 4.11s in it.

it has 3.55s as far as i know... this still doesnt change the fact that my mustang gets almost 30mpg on the highway

I could quote the price/power/MPG of a Corolla and an Accord and it would make about as much of a point as you are. You said it yourself that gearing and weight are contributing factors in MPG (which is quite obvious), so you rating horsepower price and mpg has no weight in the conversation.
