not a total waste, didn't he still win the man of the century??

But you probably didn't know any of that stuff becuase you go on blind faith and ignorance of the facts. Unlike you I base my decisions on education.

If you think I'm wrong please disprove the 3 things I just mentioned with logical answers and I'll shut up.

Yes he was the greastest scientist that ever lived but if he payed attention to Neils Bohr than he would have made an even greater impact than what he did.

Compared to the theory of God, the big bang is written in stone.

Sir Isaac Newton > Charles Darwin

taken from http://www.designeduniverse.com/arti...evolution.html

A Moment in History...

That a maker is required for anything that is made is a lesson Sir Isaac Newton was able to teach forcefully to an atheist-scientist friend of his. Sir Isaac had an accomplished artisan fashion for him a small scale model of our solar system which was to be put in a room in Newton?s home when completed. The assignment was finished and installed on a large table. The workman had done a very commendable job, simulating not only the various sizes of the planets and their relative proximities, but also so constructing the model that everything rotated and orbited when a crank was turned. It was an interesting, even fascinating work, as you can image, particularly to anyone schooled in the sciences.

Newton's atheist-scientist friend came by for a visit. Seeing the model, he was naturally intrigued, and proceeded to examine it with undisguised admiration for the high quality of the workmanship. "My! What an exquisite thing this is!? he exclaimed. "Who made it?? Paying little attention to him, Sir Isaac answered, "Nobody."

Stopping his inspection, the visitor turned and said: "Evidently you did not understand my question. I asked who made this. Newton, enjoying himself immensely no doubt, replied in a still more serious tone. "Nobody. What you see just happened to assume the form it now has." "You must think I am a fool!? the visitor retorted heatedly, "Of course somebody made it, and he is a genius, and I would like to know who he is."

Newton then spoke to his friend in a polite yet firm way: "This thing is but a puny imitation of a much grander system whose laws you know, and I am not able to convince you that this mere toy is without a designer and maker; yet you profess to believe that the great original from which the design is taken has come into being without either designer or maker! Now tell me by what sort of reasoning do you reach such an incongruous conclusion?"

Say you have a textbook in advanced calculus in front of you, are you going to understand it just by reading through it? No, but rather you must study it and read supporting documents that explain what you're reading. If not you're going to miss a lot of important content throughout.
Well, I spent my formative years undergoing Methodist indoctrination, until I was 11-12. I have a copy of Cruden's Compact Concordance for referrencing bible verses I remembered fragments of, but not the location or context. I've sifted through the Dead Sea Scrolls, some of the translated snippets from Nag Hamadi, etc. I can't say I've sifted a whole lot of information on the subject given the body of knowledge available, even after taking into consideration how much of it one man should be expected to digest. However, I have read a number of books by authors whose life study was religion + trying to relate that to others in modern terms.

Phillip K Dick had more of an effect on my than anyone; the Valis trilogy is recommended reading. The first book itself, Valis, is a bit dry and a pain for some people to get through, but The Transmigration of Timothy Archer and The Divine Invasion tie things together quite neatly. He never comes out and says it... in fact, I'm unsure he was conscious of it... but the underlying feel I got from it was that man's one true ability is to transcend (on a variety of levels, most perceptually, and acheivable within this life), and also that man is made in the image of God: flawed. Although, I suppose the perception of a flawed albeit loving creator is the product of an insufficiently transcended human mind :P

Actually, it's been only a theory until last year. I have an article on it, would you like it?

And, time does not stand still in a black hole, foolio, as there is still Hawking radiation escaping from that shizzle, providing subjective relativity. Truthfully, nothing that enters a black hole is destroyed, and can be replicated by close enough examination of the black hole's emission of Hawking radiation as the singularity evaporates. I can provide you with a paper on that, as well.

FYI, modern physics no longer discusses mass/energy, they term everything "information." The concept is that you can burn an encyclopedia, and someone who's never read it can reproduce it given close enough examination of the light, smoke, and ash left behind. Now view the person as information. Where does the soul fit into all of this?
