Water Injection 2007

Re: Water Injection 2007
Okie since i started this thread i get to asked the Nuubest question of them all....
hey hey all i wont bore you with chit chat. Straight to the Point.
What would be the optimal way to use Water injection on my setup.
Currently the car has a Compression ratio of 7.5.1 its a 1500 cc with a Tdo4H turbo. 400cc injectors+ Megasquirt Pro.
Currently the car is Boosting 1.5 bar on Pump gas(95octane). So i bought this W.I Kit. what will be the best way to use it.
PS:No one has Ever Research or devloped my engine.
anyway if you where tuning the car how would you tune it. (My Megasquirt can do progressive Nitrious/methonal.)
Start injection meth at 1.3bar (my low boost point) all the way upto 1.8 bar
or Start injection @.5 bar and advance timing Heavy all the way to 1.8 bars.
I ask these question because i dont know and dont wanna Appear to be a Complete Nuub. Please assist where you can. i Finally got the kit and want to start making POWER!

Re: Water Injection 2007
You missed the point entirely, didn't you.
Put the kit on. Set the methanol to come in wherever you like, 1.3bar sounds fine to me.
Set the boost level you want. Start with a conservative map. Tune your A/F accordingly. Tune your timing accordingly.
By tune I mean maximize efficiency until you get problems with detonation.
If you cannot figure out what you are supposed to do after I have explicitly told you what to do, you walk away from cars right now.

Re: Water Injection 2007
Hey dude thanks for the info just related to another tuner and he gunna help me out he says we will boost the car easy 2.5 bar he just hopes the turbo is up to.
so i said "2.5 bar"
2.5 bar is ------- High, i eastimate my car will make 250bhp @ 1.8 bar.
so at 2.5 bar who knows..... at the moment the car is making on average 14.5hp per .1 bar boost
I see my max efficency at 1.8 bars.am i spot on?
Pump gas stoich and methonal Stoich are two differnt value's right?
One of my main reason for going with water/meth is that all the dudes who run it make HUGE Torque...
at the moment my tune is best described as conservitive...

Re: Water Injection 2007
They make better torque because flame propagation is better, this is why timing can be good; complete combustion with minimal pumping loss.
Hopefully you'll just stand back and let the other guy do what he's going to do, that way we won't have to hear you whine about blowing up your motor running methanol.
