Re: car is boosted, but not moving at all under 8psi HELPPP
How large is a b18b? 120CID? LEt's say 150CID, for compensation in case I'm wrong and for modifications.
(150CID)(8000redline??)/3456=347cfm
@90% VE CFM=312.5
So, when you're revving at 8000RPM, your motor requires something like 312CFM of air, or roughly (using GT's criteria) 21.5lb/min of air mass. At 1.6PR, this is where you are. Now do you see where your problem is coming from? Think of it like this, at 5000RPM @ 8PSI, you're at the thick line on the compressor map(supplied by sixsick6).
Tell you why you're having trouble? I *think* turboDA6 and sixsick6 hit the nail on the head.

Re: car is boosted, but not moving at all under 8psi HELPPP
today i skipped class and installed the new turbo
its a garrett a/r .50 and a turbonetics t3 housing. t3/t4, not sure the exact specs but it pulls
it starts spooling around 3500 and i get full boost at 4600k's rpms on a open 2.5" downpipe.
1st and 2nd gear it just spins the tires at only 8psi
i upgraded from a small t3 to a huge sc61 and thought i would make huge power over the t3 at only 8psi, ive searched and found out that ppl have made power with this turbo at 7/8/9pi with the sc61. but the turbo wasnt for me, at only 8psi, it did not pull at all as i thought it would. downgrading to a smaller t3/t4 with the same set up, the smaller t3/t4 would tear the sc61 if both were gated at 8psi. well im now thinking about getting a .57 trim garrett t3/t4 turbo which would be best suited for my ls. i want 8psi dailly and would probably up the boost to max 14-16psi when i hit the track on april
thanks everyone for the replys and imputs
in conclusion,a bigger turbo isnt always better as i learned the hard way.
