Turbo Toyota Pickup Project...(Updated 3/5) Last Page
Heres the deal...picked up this 87 Toyota 4WD Pickup (Factory turbo) for $300 bucks. The idiot that sold me this thing, ran the old motor out of oil and grenaded it. So he spent $3,000 bucks to have a new 22rte built, threw it in the truck and didn't change the TURBO! He couldn't figure out why is was still smoking...so he just wanted to get rid of it. Needless to say, I offered him three bills. When I got it home I pulled that CT20 out and it was FUCKED four ways from Sunday. I ran a compression test, and leakdown motor was fine. New centerforce clutch too..
Now this is going to be my new DD, so I'm not shooting for 400 whp, 200-220 whp will be plenty as long as it's reliable. I picked up this GT28R for cheap ($500) figured it would give great response, and decent top end. I am currently finishing up an adapter flange going from CT20 to T25.
Running the show CCA intercooler, but I had to modify endtanks so they were facing back, worked out beatifully.
Another shot from the top, BOV will be a Tial 50mm, I had this laying around from my old DSM setup. Aluminum pipes are sexy.
Shot with hood closed, I am cutting out the grill to fit with the intercooler in there, it will look clean.
Here is the next crux of the project, exhaust and return line. I have a Vband adapter, and will be running full 3"
When I get the manifold back, I'll post some more pictures of the setup...

---- yeah! Post pics of the whole truck if you can, too. I love those trucks, but the factory turbo models are hard to find. You got a hell of a deal on that ******.
