im suprised this is so new info to people, just understand gearing and you'll see why boosting in 5th gear is hard on the engine, 5th gear is over drive, so there is a TON of load on the engine, more than any other gear where the tires are spinning less than the engine. besides 4th when its direct drive, or damn near it
