If the car is gutted, and the engine cracked the hell out enough, 5th gear takes nearly no time at all to wind out. In which case, you don't have to worry about it

More than likly not, but just make sure its tuned real good. Even with built motors I really never do rippers in 5th, maybe short bursts but thats it. It's not like fwd hondas feel safe over 120mphs anyways.
Doing 150mph in an EK was fun once... but after wrecking a car, I don't think I wanna do that for a little while

5th gear is probably my favorite.
The car holds 27psi in 5th and loves every minute of it. I don't "believe" in EGT gauges, just widebands and a good tune. Long pulls in your 4th/5th gear with lots of boost will give you some nasty high temp's with a lean tune. AKA melted valves, etc...
But besides that, if you have 2 cents of wit about you it isn't a problem. Shitty tunes = Not the cars mechanical fault
I easily walk most people from a 60-70mph roll without even downshifting. 5th gear + 27psi is the ----.
