same with the license suspension thing. if your such a bad driver you get your license revoked or suspended, the government is trying to protect ME not you. you're the dangerous one who can't follow common sense. and if you do get your license removed, the government didn't say you can't work. you can ride a bike, you can walk, you can take a bus? public forms of transportation should be plentiful. or are you phsyically incapable of doing those tasks?

do you want to extend this "education" into every single aspect of life.

do i need to go to the government "learn" how to use my welder? it could burn my eyes
do i need to go to the government "learn" how to use my drill? it could drill a hole in my finger
do i need to go to the government "learn" how to use a fork? i could stab someone with it
do i need to go to the government "learn" how to use my tv? i could take it apart with the plug in and it could electricute me.
the list goes on and on. or should someone like you who pretends to be smarter than everyone else make the decision? thats socialism.

freedom is all or nothing, give an inch and they will take a mile. that should be evident by the way the country is today.

there should be no pubic transportation at all. government is terrible at everything, including this. i do not want to subsidise someone else's transportation.

the great majority of people in the US live outside big cities where there is no "public transportation".

i hear there is this place called europe, where all your socialist ideas are already i place, and already dragging the countries down. you should try it out, rather than ruin the one bastion of freedom the US once was.

i understand what youre getting at. and no, the government should NOT have its hands in everything i do. but this is a society we are talking about. we aren't talking about you living in the center of a desert all alone with no one else. you can't have a totally ungoverned society, it would be anarchy.

Don't you rememeber playing tag with friends when you were a little kid. when you played with your friends you had to setup RULES so that it was FAIR for everyone. otherwise you just wouldn't be able to all play together. if you played with toys on your own you could make up whatever rules you wanted because you weren't spilling over into anyone else's rights.

same is true for a society. you have to be mindful of when your right of freedom overlaps my right to life

stealthmode. i don't want to make you do with anything. i simply feel that giving out guns like candy would lead to bad bad repercussions. i think there needs to be intelligent control over gun ownership. so that ATLEAST the legal gun carrying folk out there have all been tested and have proven their knowledge of how to properly handle and secure a weapon. that way we can minimize accidental shootings from legal gun owners. I don't claim that this will affect illegal gun users. obviously if someone wants something bad enough they will get it but atleast we can help educate the legal gun owners. we got onto some of those deviations because of the o-so-intelligent random-strike's comments about how europe is a failing area lol

Well, they already have tests for gun owners who seek a carry permit. If that's your point, how have we reached the 4th page?

its impossible to convince anyone who "feels" their opinions. metrosexual to the max... just like a woman, adding to the already gigantic amount of gun laws will make him FEEL better for about a day, then he'll be scared again and demand more

you have YET to provide one supportive fact to backup your decisions. instead you attempt to degrade my suggestions with idiotic statements like "metrosexual to the max". what does the way i dress have anything to do with gun laws?

stealthmode. i applaud you for atleast portraying some decent mannerism in this rambling of a discussion. sadly we've reached the fourth page because of the failed attempts of insulting me made by random-strike.

eh, like i said before, if no one is up for a civilized conversation about this topic then i've got better things to do with my time.

yea like be scared of firearms

i've already made plenty of valid, undeniable points.

1. nothing will not stop anyone from using a firearm in anyway they want.
2. give an inch, and they'll take a mile. now its a 5 hour class to buy a pistol, next its registration, then its confiscation
3. all studies done on conclead carry have shown a drop in random violence, no hollywood "wild west" shootouts
4. "gun free" washington d.c. has the highest gun crime rate in the united states.

are you going to even attempt a rebuttal of these facts? or are your woman like feelings going to kick in and say ATLEAST we'll know they took a test!
