stealthmode - so having tests for gun ownership is a bad thing? why if you're so great when handling your guns, you should be able to pass any test they put in front of you. would you also like to remove drivers liscense tests? just give everyone a liscense when they turn of age?

how is a test going to weed out "bad drivers"?

you asked "does a test weed out bad drivers?" haha yes. that is EXACTLY what it does. if you are NOT a good driver, you do NOT get your license. "do not pass go do not collect 200". are the people physically incapable of driving safely? hell no. are people phsyically incapable of properly handling a gun? hell no. but accidents happen. and i can GUARANTEE that if you handed out a license to every 16 year old on their birthday you would have an exponential increase in the amount of accidents. do you doubt that? come on, i'm sure you know PLENTY of stupid young drivers who have cut you off, almost hit you, or almost caused an accident. Now, do not misinterpret what i am saying. Just because someone receives their drivers license does NOT mean they will be safe drivers. Everyone has willpower and they can choose to use it how they please. But i'm talking about ACCIDENTS. where people accidentally caused something to happen. Why would more accidents happen? because they no longer have any kind of formal training. under your dictatorship there would be no 5hour required course, no permit test, no drivers test. so you would be relying on the kids to teach themselves how to drive properly? i'm not saying control the kid's willpower, but setting standards is an easy way to atleast say "well we did our best. atleast we know that all the drivers out on the road are AWARE of the rules and regulations and safe ways of operating an automobile."

every kid that turns 16 goes down there, drives down the road parks once, takes a test they forget the answers to the next day and gets a license. im not aware of any 5 hour course in most states....

why are there accidents? did a DMV test stop them? no? has a DMV test ever stopped ANYONE from getting a license. i do not know 1 single person who says yeea maaannnnn i don't gots me a license cuz i kan't pazz da tewst.

i bet you there isn't a single person in this country who doesn't have a license because they CAN'T pass the driving or written test.

ny state requires an up to date 5hour course (a class that yes, is actually 5 hours long) before you can get your test. if you don't pass your test within an hour of taking the course you have to retake it. did i learn valuable information in that course? YES. do i know the rules of the road? YES.

i do actually know a small handful of people who didn't pass their test the first time around. they WERE terrible drivers. and before you go shouting "they were all liberal *******" no they weren't. actually they were republicans lol. but you are right. the tests don't weed out many people. infact the tests are NOT stringent enough. I would even go as far as saying every X number of years (10, 20 i don't know) you have to take a "refresher" test. just a written test that proves you still know the rules of the road.
Your statements confuse me. you are aware that there are terrible drivers out there. And your solution is to just hand out licenses to everyone without trying to educate them? How could that possibly make the roads any safer? Atleast with a permit, 5hour and test you have to learn the rules of the road atleast once damn.

that's like handing a box of HMT parts and saying here you must assemble and tune a turbo kit.
compare that to a test case of kids where you hand a box of HMT parts and say "here you must take a 2hour course and then assemble and tune a turbo kit" now which of those test groups is likely to build a motor that lasts longer than a week?

I don't see how education is a bad thing. I never said ban. But i feel that if you ARE going to own a gun, drive an automobile then you better damn know how to operate, use, store, lock, etc etc. same with a car. I don't want to die on the road because YOU don't know how to drive a car.

same with the license suspension thing. if your such a bad driver you get your license revoked or suspended, the government is trying to protect ME not you. you're the dangerous one who can't follow common sense. and if you do get your license removed, the government didn't say you can't work. you can ride a bike, you can walk, you can take a bus? public forms of transportation should be plentiful. or are you phsyically incapable of doing those tasks?
