At one point, Jeff Knox, director of operations of the Manassas-based Firearms Coalition, approached survivor Colin Goddard and said students could have stopped student Seung-Hui Cho's rampage if they had been allowed to carry guns on campus. "I would have stopped him," Knox said. "Because when I went to school, I carried a gun. It was legal; I did it." Goddard, a Virginia Tech senior who was shot four times in the April 16 massacre, was taken aback, then said: "I feel sorry for you — the fact that you feel you need to protect yourself in every situation. "You're afraid of crazy situations happening. I've lived through this and I know that I can't continue in my life afraid of things," he said, adding that he put his "full trust" in the police to protect society. Gun-rights advocates said the bill would burden law-abiding citizens and gun show promoters. They also noted that Cho did not buy his weapon at a gun show, but supporters said that doesn't matter. The idea, they said, is to reduce the possibility of similar tragedies in the future. "You can no longer say you have not been forewarned," said Joseph Samaha, whose daughter Reema was among those killed. "By voting 'no' you are doomed to relive history." |

your personal protection is in your own hands. dont rely on someone who isn't you, to come and save the day. i would love to live in a peaceful world where guns arent needed, but i dont. I have no delusions about the maddness that exists in the world, and having the ability to shoot back when needed.
i site Doc Boost's episode where he was pinned down in the garage by a tweaker with a rifle, the one time he didnt pack. Dr. boost, i hope you never have to experience anything like that again. |

anyway here in wi you can go into a gun show and buy a gun from someone with no background check, but like 95% of the guys selling guns at gun shows are gun dealers and are required by law to do a background check on you before you get your gun. the people you can buy from are people with signs on their backs listing guns they want or need to sell, soemthing that is legal everywhere.
and trusting the police to protect you? what a fag, police dont protect anyone against anything, they are only there to punish that actions of people AFTER the crime has been commited. i could walk down to the store right now and blast 20 people and there isnt a damn thing that cops could have done to stop me. |

some cracked out ------ walks into a store thinking hes going to rob it and theres a possibility that 5 armed civilians are in there, i think that is a pretty good deterrent. |

What happens when those guys snap and decide to rob the joint cause they can cause they have a gun? then it'll turn into a free-for-all shootout and the world will end
