Here are the three slips that showed the 1/8 mile trap as well as the 1/4

 

 

I'm not seeing any pitting on the surface of the piston from extreme detonation.

Are those cast pistons? The land and crown might have shattered under pinging... it's pretty intense pinging at the airmass you were pushing, btw

 

This is the worst of ALL the pistons I have eaton for lunch.

I suspect that they shatter/crack, then there is hot air bleed through and it melts the ---- out of the piston. The rod had melted aluminum "welded" onto it!

The rest of the pistons "look" fine. I don't want to, but I will pull them and check. But I am guessing it is a waste of time.

as for the rod and crank bearings? Its a SUBARU, of course the are fine!

As for me? I am grinning ear to ear, cause this is the best damage yet!

 

U just think your bearings are ok since you dont have to look at them when replacing pistons

 

Hey, its not a honda!

I blew pistons three consecutive times and only after the 4th did I give up on the block because it overheated for 20 minutes that time!

Suby motors don't eat bearings as a rule. You can get 200K motors and the bearings are fine. They are crazy that way.
