Runs again!

Swapped heads yesterday, even had it in and bolted up. Then I wondered why the clutch pedal was so loose.

Whoops, why thats the pressure plate sitting on the ground!

So I pulled it out and quit for the day.

Got it back in this morning and running. Was making some AWFUL rod knocking noises, then squeaks.

Then I filled the radiator and it was as smooth as butter. Might still have leaky turbo problems, but I can deal....

 

Looks like the pistons have marks from kissing the valves. Did you clean those rough edges off?

 

All 4 pistons looked like that.

I took a dremel and ground/polished them up.

Took the wagon for a short drive. Ran flawlessly. Except for the leaking oil drain line (no clamps on it, will do that tonight), and the horrendous milage it was a success!

I am smiling, but knocking on wood at the same time!

 

We need vids of AWD panty rippers.
