Starting on a build, not mine though, I'm too damn poor. Got no money but I got skillz.

Nice hybrid build, not a mini me or an LS Vtec but you know it's the best I can do with this thing.

------- Nissan, can't be easy like a Honda motor, they have to make stuff difficult.

redesigned crank for 2007 and the redesigned CAS wheel on the right. The extra bolt hole and the inverted pattern means the older ECU's won't work with it and it won't physically fit the crank, and the ECU's are different. My friend ran his GSR off of a d16 ECU, wtf.

2007 motor has a 7k redline, the older motors have a 6250 redline. I figure with a hybrid bottom 7.2k should be good to go. Right now the end of 4th is only good to about 95mph, with the RPM bump it should be good for 122mph.

I dropped some drawings off at a local machine shop and they put them in CAD. (Junk is the name I make parts under when it's not for another company)

A week later I got these back.

I still need to drill and tap 2 extra holes on the pulleys. I'll be starting on the sensor bracket soon. Not homemade but as close as I could get given the circumstances, I'm just not that good with a dremel tool.

I can't click "add to cart" to get pistons and rods so the spec sheets are being filled out now. You Honda guys have it so easy

Damn not bad, so what are the new goals with the motor?

It's hard to tell in the photo, but those cranks look like they might be forged?

They are forged and micro polished.

The power goals aren't huge. I'm making 296ftlbs now with very little TQ drop off towards redline. If I can make 296 ft/lbs at 7200 I'll have 411hp or so. Don't really need to make more TQ just need to shift it and/or maintain it towards redline. Those are the goals for my build when I get around to it.

The goals for this particular build are 500+hp.

With a 6250 redline it'd take 420ft/lbs at redline to make 500 hp, w/ a 7200 redline it'd only take 360ft/lbs to make 500hp. That's one advantage a Honda has by being able to rev so high, HP is a function of TQ over RPM.

I'm well aware of how power and torque and rpm are related :-)

I have flat torque to 6500 from 5000 and flat power from 6500 to 7500 that power being roughly 400crank hp. I need some mild cams to make the torque flat to redline too. Would make for a major boost in power for sure.

Lookin' good, J. Was impressed with your car last weekend. What kinda $$ is going into this particular build(round-about figure)??

the bore, stroke and rod ratio are almost identical to an F24 hybrid build just as a reference
