the higest cylinder pressures are going to be higher near peak VE.

Static compression ratio is involves stroke as the whole length, dynamic takes into consideration the point in the stroke where the intake valve closes. With Nissan's Continously Variable Valve Timing there is a range of, I belive, 37* of crank rotation that the cam can be manipulated between in real time. Even more if you were to modify the internals of the cvvt unit. That would allow tuning to create a plateau of VE as opposed to a peak. The largest factor in determining dynamic CR is cam phasing.

Notice the flat TQ output, and notice how it comes on at 3k......... the Turbo spools sooner than that but Nissan tuned the ECU so that nothing really exciting happens before 3K. The cam timing just isn't ideal to utilize the boost being produced below 3K.

Should be going to the track Saturday, I fully expect to need new tires if I don't get my junk yard dual stage boost controller put in. 11psi is nice, except to my tires.

...........or I'll end up going to Flordia to help put the motor together and back in a 500whp Spec V (should be 500+ w/ the upgrades)

But, I'm full of ---- according to some people

Fixed it for you.

It's possible tio increase VE and lose power; I don't like the original analogy.

I got bored and I've been meaning to do this for a while.

Yes, that's the start of a cold air box

I've added a 2 stage boostcontroler. It uses an EGR control solenoid from a random car, and a push button momentary switch mounted in a shift **** I made from 2 part epoxy. Hold the button run a more tire friendly 5 PSI, let off and run whatever the MBC is set for. I've been meaning to crawl under the car and make a bracket to hold a micro switch that is engaged by shift linkage so it becomes automatic when in first and 2nd gear.

God I'm such an idiot, I would have never thought to add a jump start point where I had to splice the old cable to the new cable.
