JDM/USDM H22 exhaust ports are the same, and for clarification the one we just built in my girlfriends car is a JDM h22. Hardest part about making a manifold for a h22 is just finding a flange, I personally wanted a stainless steel on and looked all over, some websites had some mild steel ones but they were like 60 bucks, which is kinda crazy for a head flange. I ended up getting a stainless steel one from these guys http://www.davesport.com
I dont think there is any problem turboing a H22 USDM/JDM in stock form at all. Its just like turboing any other honda B16/B18 whatever, ya its closed deck so it has a bit more strength but as mentioned above the sleeves are thin and can easily crack if not tuned right. The big downside to the h22 is the rebuild, ------- frm sleeve design is pretty homo, no aluminum piston will ever seal in these style sleeves, so resleeveing is a absoulte must.

F22's have great sleeves, but again.. as mentioned above they dont put out ---- for power in stock form, after you turbo it, you looking to get about the same output of a stock Normal aspirated H22. F22's powerband reminds me of a B18a/b LS they dont rev to make power, they are just torque motors and low output.

I think one of the biggest reasons my GF went with the h22 was price, H22 swaps are ------- dirt cheap, $1950 for Engine/Tranny/ECU/Harness/Axles all the ----, they are cheaper than B18c's but have more displacement and more stock power.

Good luck on your project and we'd love to see pics =)

Jeff

how much did you have to dump into that motor after that 2k pricetag? I know you got pistons and rods but didn't you also get it sleeved?

Yes I know you've mentioned it somewhere but I have a headache.. so yeah.

We have over 6 grand in it, after billet mounts, Stage 3 clutch, forged pistons, Eagle rods, Darton Sleeves, ARP head studs.. ---- all kinds of ----. Its bulletproof, its basically identicle to my built ls/vtec, just a bigger version.

Damn.. I didn't know you have that much into your built lsvtec man. So that figure of 6k includes the 2k pricetag of the motor/tranny?

Oh and Typert, how do you machine your flanges.. just out of curiosity. My ghetto *** uses a oxy/acet torch, grinder, chop saw, drill press and hole saw to make flanges.. damn I wish I never returned my plasma cutter

I have way more than 6k in my engine and turbo setup than that. She doesnt even have any head work done. 6k included the engine/tranny/ecu etc.

Anyhow, lets stay on topic.

right.. right. I'm sure 93JuicedAccord has a lot more to say. I think somehow he tagged my signature (leading to this forum) over on cb7tuner and joined up

Holy ---- batman i didnt read all that

but from the jist of what i did

h22a+forced induction= are u willing to take the risk? how much h22a longblocks going for now a days? 1g

the reason why quadnie and a few others are all saying u should of sticked with the F22a is because simply put its a cheap *** motor.. has IRON sleeves and a low *** compression ratio.. can we say boost friendly

ACCORD R33 has been boosting his for a while now.. on a shitty *** SMC its like a SAFC but no gauges just lil ***** lol.. and its still running.. id like to see something like that kind of abuse done to an h22a

about the hybrid.. f22/h22 its been covered.. and works well.. seriously interested hit up the H-T thread or me..

and as to the 200 VS 125..

hes a lil bit of info i always use..

1992 accord LX Auto
125hp base right?

put down 195whp 185tq at 10psi with a small *** t25 and safc..

damnit if that isnt good for a motor that u can find for 100 i dont know what is..and to think that its AUTO. lol

anyway.. point being.. spend 2k or w.e u spent on ur h22a swap or..

spent 100-200 on a f22a and 1g on a turbo setup and be running around with some ***** to the wall hp

yes i am biased.. but its for soooo many reason..
