Yes, actually I do. I've done two blown toyotas. I'm able to monitor and log intake air temps in both projects.
I'll IC eventually - but ground clearance & AC are the primary impediments. The IC is desireable.. from my logs, I'd say it would even work on the NA motors as they log intake temps in the 125 degree range with ambient at 70-80.
Not running an IC is going to be way down on the priority list for this project.

I forgot - this is s1mpl3x - his ---- will never run right and will be removed after 30 miles.
Also, is he sure that he has a draw-through compatible turbo? I'm pretty sure he has no idea what I'm talking about. :1

Stock toyota crapola isn't worth much. If you've got a head that's setup for EFI, you could get most of this stuff for around $150.
A new processor for MS is what? $75?
Still don't want to mess with all that crap... You could ghetto up a holley TBI unit, about $25 from any junkyard. Draw through that with a 15psi fuel pump and you'll have adequate fuel control to be able to tune it.
It's still ghetto, but it's a ghetto step closer to EFI and will actually run well.

Block is totally toast? Too damaged to bore it?

Intercooled NA motor? I don't see how that would help anything.

block has too many fucked up headbolt, bracket, and bolts stuck in the block that won't come out, and other threads worth repairing (thanks to prev owner). all the helicoils i'd use would be $200, and at that price, it's just not worth it.

in response to ghetto tbi:

whipped this up tonight. i'm working on the rest of it tomorrow, drilling/tapping the block to be bolted down to the ghetto tbi setup im working on.

Slightly off topic - but the dang stock NA setup gets so friggin heat soaked that an IC would result in a significant temp drop.. Assuming you're not in TX.

A real - working - cold air setup would solve the problem too.. But hard to do cold air on a 4wd that might see water.

Not to be a douche about it, but you need more experience with a lot of cars and a lot of ICs, while paying attention to mounting position airflow dynamics, ambient temps, pressure differentials, efficiency ranges on disparate compressors, etc. It's simply not cut and dry.

So will all of these injectors be firing at the same time, like a TBI setup or are you just relocating the injectors to the throttle plenum instead of the intake runners
Seems to me if you're running 4 injectors with the ability to control them, you should tap them into the individual intake runners.
I dunno maybe the intake mani is wacky?
