Ive run PVC as charge piping, (the black stuff from HomeDepot) for just under 2yrs of massive beatings, several 5th gear pulls to 7k on a Chrysler (OMG the outlet air temps must be CraZy) T3. No melting, or visible signs of heat damage.
Sometimes the real world behaves diff. than a spec sheet. This is one of them.

isnt the "black stuff from homedepot" generally ABS plastic? also isnt ABS a little more resistant to heat? (although slightly more brittle than PVC) cause that might explain your success a little!
i do also realize if homedepot felt like it, they COULD make black PVC... so this is more of a question...

rofl, its funny that i have to simplify my previous post for you to understand... but ok, fair enough...
ABS=black=http://img.alibaba.com/img/product/p...1313014071.jpg
PVC=white=http://www.mystickoi.com/images/categories/C100.jpg
now, i have no doubt that people run PVC and have no problems... i ALSO believe that OTHER people HAVE had problems w/it... it obviously depends on the setup... nonetheless, im not debating whether or not PVC will work... im wondering if you even HAVE PVC, or just think you do, if its black, it MIGHT be ABS, which IS better for heat... and in my original post i had posed it as a question....
im not trying to discredit you, just wanna know if your running PVC or ABS... damn

PVC is proven to be 100% resistant to gasoline, but not acetone (as most things)
ABS is more chemically resistant but is 'cell-core' which means it was whipped up when hot, and air bubbles are trapped inside the plastic.
by nature of the chemical makeup, ABS tends to bulge then 'banana' when over-pressured, whereas pvc will just explode.

ah, see i figured it could just be dyed... oh well, see that is more justification for PVC working well, i knew ABS was always black, so i was taking a stab... obviously you know your PVC, nice setup btw... sucks you wont be pushing it further...
