A turbo increases the volumetric efficiency of the motor.. Your mpg should be fine at the same power levels.
Did it acutally need a "clutch and ----" ?
Did it run worth a darn on the street? Was it drivable?

Me thinks: Very Bad Idea [TM]

i think not. i need to modify the carb to withstand boost, not only see boost for a little bit. along with redoing the 'tophat' with a welded, not brazed unit. it was 'loading up' after 4700 or so rpms (i know rpm's fine on this truck, used to have tach but msd wont work with auto gage) and would not be able to rev past it. it WAS driveable though, 4500 was the most i ever used street driving (2nd gear windout up this one hill by me), and i definitely had more off-idle power. felt like it was slow to boost though, probably due to lack of homemade mechanical fuelpump FMU and dropping pressure :1

I thought I had you pegged right off, then you made this thread and I changed my mind. Then you take off your turbo kit, and I kinda resent the emotional rollercoaster you've put me through.

It's over, s1mpl3x. I'm seeing other people now.
