The Acclipse Turbo Project (DSM ACCORDS!!)

Re:The Acclipse Turbo Project (DSM ACCORDS!!)
Yeah I told Pierre that I needed some more practice with weld-els. Since he is local to me and I can have the car nearby to make all the tack welds then it's all good.
It's not going to be any immediate time soon, I'm about to go meet up with the crew in florida then get back up here. On top of that I have to buy a bigger MIG welder.
I would just make him use a 4g63 manifold but according to him and carlos the F22B2 motors don't share the same pattern as the F22a1/H23 heads. Anyone care to back this up? I've never played with a f22bX before.

Yeah, the way Pierre described it was they have something like an isometric head design, kinda like a small block ford.. well that's how I understood it.
I'm too lazy to load up the parts programs (that I d/l from Hybrid/Tech sticky ) to look it up myself.
Think it would be cheaper then the parts to make a manifold to just swap over a F22a1 head and DSM manifold?

Ah, I don't go here for awhile and there's a huge f22 turbo thread. Don't have a 4G Accord but I do I have a 93 prelude w/the almighty f22. Anybody used any basemaps for Uberdata yet that run well Anyway here's my set-up that I'm going for.
t3/t4
turbonetics detlagate
Stock Skyline BOV(eight bucks
Coming soon...FMIC, DSM 450's, custom manifold, and running Uberdata.

Re:The Acclipse Turbo Project (DSM ACCORDS!!)
well heres the thing...the 4g ports are equidistant from each like, they look like this: O--O--O--O and THANK GOD the 1g dsm ports are almost the same and we can use their mani
5g ports look really gay as hell with 2 closer ports in the middle, and i cant find a reason why it was changed like that from the 4g to 5g even though its the same engine: O---O-O---O
and just because of this...a turbo mani would cost him like 300-400 or so, and thats just a little less than half our budget for our whole setup LOL

Re:The Acclipse Turbo Project (DSM ACCORDS!!)
Ok so the 4g have the isometric head design and the 5g have the... sbc design. The only reason a head would have a O--O-O--O pattern is so the intake side will looke like this --OO-OO--
That works well on a chevy v8 (sbc) because it has water ports on the outer sides of the head hiwch have plenty of space from the intake runners.

Re:The Acclipse Turbo Project (DSM ACCORDS!!)
I need to figure out all the costs of the swap and weigh that against the weldels, bare steel used. I doubt argon or wire will run over $5. Can't forget about beer consumed while making the manifold.
