Re:Coolers for Turbo Setup

Well, if the turbo is water cooled and you will be running coolant to it, I wouldn't worry too much about an oil cooler. Also, yes the coolant in the turbo will keep the temperatures low enough so a turbo timer isn't needed.

Re:Coolers for Turbo Setup

Clean looking accord. Yes, definately get a trans cooler, I do for any of my personal vehicles. On my K5 I have a trans cooler that is about as big as a half sized honda radiator. It's a cheap piece of assurance, I know how crappy those honda transmissions with that sport shift crap can be (2g Integra auto).

As long as you let the car run a little bit after you pull it hard, say a cooloff period after an interstate ride, a turbo timer isn't all that necessary. An oil cooler is never a bad idea, you'll probably want one in the long run, I think it was the f22b1 that came with an oil cooler? Don't quote me on that one, but I remember seeing one on a stock honda somewhere. It's one of those things that can never hurt.. if you have the psi, I would suggest one.

Are you going with a dsm manifold to match that 14b on your f22a1?

thats what, i'm running in the delsol si auto tranny ,oil cooler, and tranny cooler.but the little civic radiator can not handle the temps of the oil and turbo.i have blew the tops off them. i'm also running a 14b.also on the 85-87 crx si has the oil cooler.it fit in my y7 block.only thing is you have to run that fat oil filter. plus my oil pressure stay constant now after running hard.sometimes a slight drop when ran to hard.would not hurt to get a stall converter either.

i think most honda's use the same oil filters. if it does you might be able to use one off a b-d series.the tranny cooler,u can get one at o'reily for 30. that works great.

Re:Coolers for Turbo Setup

Ok, first off, the transmission coolers that go thru the radiator are bad. The trans will always stay the temperature of the car, if the car overheates - brings the trans down with it. Get a decent aftermarket one, check on ebay. I decided to go with one that had threaded fittings since I don't believe in using rubber anywhere on a heavy duty truck, so bent brake lines all under the hood for me. The truck is a full time offroad machine, I don't need a stupid cedar tree that I'm running over to rip my trans line off. Look into a replacement for it.

On the oil cooler I thought it was like a stock f22b1 vtec accord motor, need to look into that more. Yeah I thought they were somewhat compatible, doesn't the H22/H23 use an oil cooler? I'm sure that should transfer over. This isn't a necessity, but would be nice to run one ya know.

Beyond that, is that dsm manifold working out good for you? Were you able to keep a/c with it? Is that a possibility?

Thanks for the updates.

Re:Coolers for Turbo Setup

yeh of course at the very least im gettin an aftermarket trans cooler..

the dsm manifold works...you can bend the a/c lines out of the way, if u dont want it then take it out, but its possible to keep it, but the front motor mount has to go...mite get a custom bracket, but i hear alot of people go w/o it
