Their prices are comparatively through the roof for what you get, the ony thing Skank3 I could see myself buying are their cam gears... their Pro-series IMs don't impress me although I do see all the riceboys running out to update to them for no reason I can think of, and while their old stage cams never impressed me the Pro series ones are pretty on good although the stage 2's had a good rep for breaking there for a hot minute. Seeing as how Brian Crower gives away equivalent cams for a lot less, uhm, I don't understand why anyone buys those?

How much is the apperatus youre selling for that task.

On top of that it makes smaller, better companies coming out, have a harder time to bring out there stuff. First company/ person that comes to mine is our very own Mod Chris. Great stuff, but has a hard time bring some of his stuff out because he gets over shadow by this dumb company .
on the other hand, skunk2 put me and those cam kits above on the map. i'd been selling them a year or two and always felt S2 was lurking behind me, heard rumors they wanted into the cam degree market (not that its a big one) etc. one day i get a normal customer call for a BVTEC kit.. we talk the whole deal out and at the very end he's like yeah just mail it to skunk 2, im the engine builder there. i thought wow, ive been had. "dude, if we wanted to copy you, we would have long ago. it has to be a 3x profit margin for us to even consider making anything based on our overhead." so i sent him one for cost i think. the 2007 catalog came out and the cam kits and my name were in a caption on the bottom. no idea it was gonna be in there. then they wanted a K/S2000 kit, so i sent it for free. if you look at their home page on the bottom right is a K race motor with that very kit bolted on it. whenever anyone at skunk got a call for cam degreeing tools they just sent them to me. jeff giovino (left skunk) and tony shadgay have both treated me fantastically and i definately owe them for that.

as an engine builder, ive never had any skunk2 product fail and ive used a lot of them. the only thing i wasnt in love with was the "S2" stamp in the flat valve faces just because i believe it can be a heat riser but never seen one preignite from it. the other thing was the origonal Skunk2 intake manifolds.. they were fine stock but when a customer wanted one cut open, ported and rewelded, it wasnt as easy to do as the blox, only because of layout, not quality. ive built a lot of motors with pro2s and love them.
