$126, the machinist likes me so the valves were seated for free.

I wasn't around for the fitting of the gears so I dunno, but the diff went in with no clearance issues. I kind of regret not thinking to get an OBD2 diff pin for it, but the ZC trans was super clean and the Si gearset I was given came out of a low mileage car and has been sitting in a box for five years, so it should be about the nicest shifting cable D trans in North America except for the sort of ppl who buy complete MFactory gearsets or the like.

With regards MPG and emissions, yes it hurts emissions because they run spot on 14.7 AFR for clean CO2 and H2O tail pipe output. Best emissions is done a bunch leaner but produces nasty nitrous oxide ---- that ruins our air. I've often wondered if we are better off dumping the nitrous oxide out and using less fuel overall. There must be benefits to both sides. As a hobby thing it's an easy choice though, lean + NOX FTW.

I'm no nerd, just a geek thanks. Nerds play computer games and like star trek and do other similarly gay things. I do burnouts, hate computer games and haven't watched star trek in about 12 years or more.

I was just thinking about those revenge of the nerds films where the nerds are socially incapable...

According to wikipedia it is slightly better to be a geek than a nerd, but neither definition seems to fit me.

Technology is my bitch, not the other way around, and star trek can get fucked :-)

Perhaps it just depends on where you come from and how it has been used in that place traditionally?

To me geek means knows a lot and enjoys it. To me nerd means socially inept. Who cares, on with the massive economy.

Yep, emissions is hurting MPG by 15-20%, so does the E10 gas.

Last time I had to run my HB thru emissions check, I did it WITHOUT a cat, passed eveything, but failed NOx.......but my car wasn't required to pass, only 96+ Honda's. Then I pointed out the car had no cat, instant equipment fail, which was my plan. Went home, slapped the cat on, was back a few hours later for retest.....I passed VX LEV standards and NOx came down. I was getting about 47 mpg at the time.

number for example only.....

60 mpg = 300 PPM NOx
40 mpg = 180 PPM NOx

Overall 10% less NOx emissions, but you use 1.5 times as much gas. What is not talked about the the EXTRA emissions from the refinery offset the lower car emissions.

Conspiracy Theory.

Bone,

So is it possible to get better MPG on my car thats a 1995 b18b than the factory tune without ill effects to the engine? Lets say I remove the cat, are there bins around that are programmed for better than stock mpg?
