man, awdstyles has been working hard here. sucks when a bunch of ppl team up and attack one person. good on you for putting in the hard yards.
as for the thread sucking, i cant help but agree. the point of the thread was to rile me up after a series of pms between me and random here. he got a little riled up after i privately questioned his car handling better than an s2k as he hinted at in another thread (i forget where). as i informed him that my skyline pulls 1g on road rubber and 1.1 on street legal semi slick race rubber and that i had been in a mitsi mirage 8500rpm 1.6l mivec stripped hatch that pulled 1.2 on older crappier tyres (next model down from mine) he started to change the subject to hp and torque and value etc...
so he posted this. the point and subject of this thread was to hook me in and argue CC > cams/valves
as soon as i left to scotland on thursday night uk time, the thread lost its point, however it was good to see someone upholding the intelligent side of the argument in my absence.
hows about we get back to the point :
as far as overall vehicle balance goes at lower dollars in the second hand market, turbo + jap = fast round a track. you just cant argue that.
at some point in this discussion it was stated that there was nothing close to as fast as a z06 round a track for the dollars.
that was infact incorrect. the evo 8 was almost up there, on 2/7 the capacity and at XX thousand less dollars off the lot.
also mazda won lemans with the rota box car a few times.
the binary number was most likely signed and without its sign bit.
and a few other pointless things.
there was a v8 falcon at taupo one of the times i went in my 2l non turbo gutless wonder 16s skyline. according to the owner it would do a mid 14 or so. round the track, he past me on the straight and got to the end when i was half way, but by the time we got back to the straight, i was ahead again... that tells the story pretty well really. every time i braked and turned in, he lagged behind badly.
drag strips are not a good place to judge the overall picture of what a car is and more hp != faster round a track (thats not oval or round and has 10+ corners).
why stick up for gms build quality and company practices when they are about to ---- themselves?
there is just no point at all.

a more expensive car and/or rare will always hold its value better.
check the price on corvettes lately? they seem to hold their value pretty well except the zr1 considering it was very overpriced to begin with....
1974 shitbox smog motor 240hp are worth nearly what they sold for initially...
1988 corvette - 34% of original value
1988 toyota supra - 20.4% of original value
1988 rx7 - 27% of original value
1988 honda civic - 23% of original value
1988 camaro z28 - 22% of original value
2001 civic LX - 67% of original value
2001 camaro z28 - 53% of original value

Re: this is funny...
yea that guy is so lucky he has a shitty NA base model skyline which is the honda civic of japan.
slow garbage, i bet it pulls a sweet 1.0g corner at 15 mph. now try it at 90mph if it'll go that fast and you'll crash and die.
any car can take a corner well at very slow speeds
