Does and should S mode buy new pistons and rings. No.
We all know that. Its not whether he is supposed to or not. Allthough it would be great for stealthmode and his rep if he met him halfway or something on the cost instead of being ---- you bought it deal with it...Im not saying hes like that but ya'll catch my drift

man he knows it him self that's why he's bitchin so much. he bought the motor AS-IS!!!!! if stealth knew it was that fucked im sure he never woulda sold it. he gave u the option and told u some simptoms and u decided to get it anyway. ur only mad cuz u knew it was fucked and its worse then u thought and u kno u can't get ur money back. if u and him had an agreement in the past before u bought it that woulda been a different story... jus kick rox and learn from it. don't buy "blown smoking" motors. u knew it was blown from the get go. quit postin pics and tryna make a "i hate stealth" thread... that's what its turning into. he owns the classifieds so im sure he set the rules down before u bought it.

Wow, this thread sucks.

First off, the motor was sold as-is and with the known fact that something is 100% wrong with it. It was never sold in perfect condition. Something was wrong with it and both the buyer and the seller knew about it. I heard this motor run and I would have never guessed it had ANY melted pistons, let alone all of them. From what I knew, Steve didn't want to crack the motor open because the potential buyer didn't want him to. That buyer fell through and it was sold to SSl2k in an unknown condition. I myself was thinking about buying it in the stated unknown condition. It could have been the head gasket, it could have been the rings, it could have been the turbo, it could have been alot of things. If I bought the motor and found out it had a loose headbolt and all I had to do was tighten it down, would Steve want more money from me? Hell no. If I bought the motor and it had a cracked sleeve would I want my money back from Steve? Well, maybe, but that's not the way it works. I've lost thousands of dollars in Casinos on "gambles" and they never gave me back any of the money I lost out of pitty. That's not the way it works. If the motor only had a blown head gasket, would you offer Steve anymore money because it was such an easy fix? ---- no you wouldn't. How is this any different? Steve knew nothing about any blown pistons or any severe damage. He was driving the ------- car on a daily basis up until the day he pulled it into the garage and we all tore the motor out. None of us knew the pistons were fucked. I wanted to buy that motor, but didn't have the cash at the time. I knew it was a gamble and I might ened up putting more money into it to fix it, but that was the risk involved in buying a used motor with a known problem.

I feel like a biased hypocrite for defending Steve, but no matter who was in this situation I would have the same response. Someone was going to get the shitty end of the stick on the deal and someone was going to break even. In this case, Steve sold a motor he spent several months and thousands of dollars and sold it for a fraction of what he paid, and Nathan paid $1000 for a motor that still is worth way more than what he paid for it.

I have a set of mint Z6 pistons and rods that I will give you if you need to get this motor up and running. No, they are not forged and they aren't going to hold up to a severe boosted *** raping, but they will get your motor up and running.

I'm sorry to hear about the motor, but I'm sure it wasn't a planned event and I doubt ANYBODY knew what was really wrong with that motor.

I think you have handled this fairly well and didn't come out pointing fingers(other members have done this for you), but I think you and Steve need to work this out. If Steve wants to be a SUPER nice guy and give you some sort of compensation for the extra cost, then that would be way cool of him. If not, then no hard feelings should be left. You took a gamble just like any other buyer would have done. It sucks for you that it worked out this way, but what else can you do?
