they require lots of modificatin but it can be done.

alot of neon.org people are runing built high compression 2.4 engines out of the seabrings and such. i have heard of swap being done onto them.

all 2.4 are the same when it comes to motor mount and placement. the difference is the tranny.

now im not familur with non srt models neon (never own a regular neon so i didnt care for studing myself with it.) it's just the srt/pt cruser model has the Beefest of the engines. and im sure they got a complete engine swap with probably the only requirements would be specific motor mounts. using trans/engine combo and using it's axles and what not.

don't quote me on this but im not a regular neon owner from the 1gen. even i think they are hidious. although they are VERY light weight.

We could always switch it up a little with a "wonder how hard it would be to put an srt-4 motor in a civic" thread

I just got a srt4 2 weeks ago. im liking it so far. The worst thing about it is the instant boost and hearing the BOV every time i let go of the gas ,and the handling could be better, but other than that its a really fun car.

I drove one of the first year models and I didn't think the handling was that bad for stock. Obviously a better suspension setup and some tweaking could help it, but for stock it was ok.

i got an 04 with some "mods"(carbon fiber hood, and k&n filter) and factory LSD ftw. the reason i say the handling could be better is cuz im used to my prelude that can take corners as fast as you dare to take them, and i noticed that when making u-turns I usually cant make the full U without having to reverse. I know thats a lame reason to say the handling sucks, but i have yet to take it on some twisties, arent too many in chicago. But like i said, cant really complain about anything else, especially since i got for 15k with taxes and everything included and the odometer is about to hit 28,000 miles. i think i did good

well your equiped with a blue plate most likely called the mopar noise maker. it should go off everywhere. any time. even durring -8 vacuum shifting.

oh yeah the insta boost. it's im running an equalvilant .41 a/r on a 2.4 liter engine oh ---- yea im going to spool almost instantly turbo any time it's running. if most 1.6 honda guys think a .41 a/r is too small for a honda what makes you think it even better for a 2.4 engine? biggest down fall of the engine small as a/r.

yeah you'll knotice the steering colom is very limited at best it has a turning radious of a bus. but don't fret boys and girls. the reason for this is the fact that it has equal length half shaft from the trasnmisson. and it's necessary for equal power displacement between both wheels.

handleing sucks yes. sway bars make the biggest differnce IMO. but it's still a slug. only the ACR model was the handleing one. and hell it was so much better then the factory. but you can mod a stock neon srt4 to out do the acr model.

CAI didnt make it that loud. only thing it makes louder is the spool. it's a big difference from the stock box.

but truth is. the stock box flows VERY Well for a stock air box. heck there are people running stage 3 turbo with the stock box for and eazily hitting 350WHp. so getting a CAI isnt nessasary.
