The cost of selling the ROMs to with shipping and stuff will end up with me over charging you.. Check out my previous posts in this thread..

They'll sell you the ROMs dirt cheap. $3.29 each. Just go in on it with some guys running Hondata, it'll be cheaper.

Re:Free ECU Modification Programs!

The difference between 88-91 and 92-95 ECUs is quite large. I will give you the long version if you wish, but the short version is the MicroCrontoller that the 92-95 ECU uses is completely different, and has a totally different instruction set. The assembly language that actually executes the static code is completely different. It is like comparing a MAC OS to a MS OS. C++ to Fortran. Pascal to Java (well the Jury is still out on that, heheh). Basically night and day difference. The only thing similar is how they look asthetically. There is a group that is concentrating on that flavor but boost is still probably a long way off. Me personally? I don't care about 92+ ECU's, and probably never will. If you want to chip your OBD1 ECU for boost then I encourage you to check out www.Hondata.com

Mike,

I think what you're doing rocks! Screw Hondata. It may be commercial, but for a privately written application, Ghettodyne is incredible.

I'm getting antsy seeing that v2.0 screen shot.

I finally got all my hardware for the chipping. I'll be soldering up my extra PM6 sometime today. First, I'll probably burn an EcuControl ROM to test the serial output. Then I'll start tampering with my fuel/ignition tables in GhettoDyne.

Any ideas on when they might be combined? Or when GhettoDyne might contain real-time datalogging? Oh, and a buddy wanted to know about PR3 table modification. He's currently running a Hondata setup, but is eager (through m 24 hour promotions of yours and Nick's software) to try GhettoDyne.

ECUControl ROM: This is working fine???

Someone can explain to me how to use it????

I got everything soldered together a little while ago. I have yet to get my EEPROM programmer from UPS ( >:(), so I'm going to a buddy's house to have him burn my EcuControl ROM tonight.. I'll have pics of the install, and screenshots of the EcuControl program running (hopefully) later tonight.

Wish me luck!! ;D ;D ;D

Re:Free ECU Modification Programs!

WHOOOOOO WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

ECUCONTROL ROCKS!!!!!! I got everything installed and it's running great!! Datalogging owns, drop the logs into Excel, make charts, blah blah blah.. It's great.

Everything in version 1.4 works except Boost (Which I don't have yet anyway), and Fuel Mixture.. Which I believe is being worked on.

By what's stated on the Ghettodyne page, EcuControl will be in the next version!! It'll be awesome. Tuning the ROM and logging the date from the tunes.. it'll be great.

Anyway.. Everyone with a 90-91 PM6 should do this mod. It's cheap, it's easy, and it's a great way to learn about actual tuning!

Here are some of the pics I took earlier, and some of the screen shots from my first run!

First I desoldered my stock EPROM and soldered in the 28 PIN ZIF socket. (If you desolder the stock EPROM, you can drop it in the socket and go drive to test your install)

Next, the RS232 adapter "kit", that I thought came assembled, didn't. :-\ So, I soldered this thing all together.. Not to bad if I say so myself..

Then I wired it all up to the board...

Last but not least! SUCCESS! Check out the screen shots..
