I didn't do any boring/honing/cryogenic freezing when I installed mine. According to the manufacturer you shouldn't have to. I'm assuming the coolant passages were blocked too much which caused it to overheat and eventually the cylinders shifted. The #1 cylinder sunk which caused me a nice little leak.
Mine was an Arizona race. It had the tiny *** holes, which I bored out as far as I could after the first time it overheated. I don't know if that just didn't help or if it was too late by then?
