Blew a crack in my OEM intake tube between the MAF and the throttle body so I've made a new one. Polished and lacquered the stainless while I was at it. I also put in some 100 octane last fill up and turned up the boost to 6 PSI. Wow, what a difference! I'd like more but I've just about maxed out my MAF and OEM injectors. Time for some more upgrades.

Here is some in car video at 6 PSI. Hard to keep traction when that boost kicks in...

Damn thats bad ass :o. You should put 8 dsm 450s >:D and up the boost to 15 :y.

i know i'm bumping a old ass topic, but i see ya posting on eccs.hybridka.com all the time now, obviously doing some ECU tuning... any clue what kinda power you're making now? also, how in the HELL are you maxing the Q45 MAF, the "P60" maf is supposedly good for somewhere around the tune of 600hp or so i hear (probably a little less on a less efficient engine, such as a big ass V8, lol) got any more dyno time in? or any data logs with maf voltage? this thing would be SAD if it didnt make an EASY 350whp, and it SHOULD be able to pull that off on pump gas.

Oh, ya, been doing a lot with the project. This ECU is relatively unknown so I'm having to do some digging. I'm really close to being ready to get on the dyno. I've expanded the maps on the ECU because I was maxing the scales but didn't know by how much until I recently got my map trace software working. The TP was hitting 100 @ 8 PSI of boost and my TP scales only went up to 72. Also expanded the RPM scales as I have increased the rev limit to 7K. I've added methanol injection as well and have got my Zeitronix wideband installed. The last few days I've finally been able to get rid of the detonation problem I was having at, and above 4K rpm, with the help of the recently acquired map trace.

Here's a few current photos and vids

Here is a log showing the MAF voltage (maxes at 5.12v) and the injector duty cycles. I can get more but not much without some modifications and/or larger injectors.

Methanol injection demo, line wasn't primed so it sputtered a bit at first.

I've also had the plenum and valve covers off, replaced VC gaskets, knock sensors, coolant and breather/vacuum hoses, fuel filter, and a few power steering hoses. New lower temp spark plugs as well.

That should give you a pretty good update. I'll post more as I get it. Want to get on the dyno in the next month or so. I'm hoping for 400-450 whp (more would be nice) @ 8 psi

Damn love the update, glad the car is runing good. BTW whats up with the 5speed swap you wanted to do?

Damn... missed this one first time around. Really nice. Love the oil plumbing, well done!

How do ya like the glowshift gauges?

The manual trans is definitely on my wish list but that's a major project that I'm not prepared for at this time.

The glowshift gauges are decent. Only one that's given me trouble is the oil pressure. I think the problem is the sending unit, occasionally the gauge will just stay on like 80 psi regardless of the actual psi and sit there and wiggle. It usually returns to normal within a few minutes.

Thanks for the the compliment on the oil lines. I was a little worried if they would turn out nice but I think they did. BTW, that reminds me, while I was doing the valve cover gaskets I installed an oil return fitting in the pass. side valve cover. Here's a pic. You can see the fitting just above the oil fill opening. Brass 1/4" NPT 90* elbow. So nice to get the oil return out of the oil fill cap. It was a pain in the butt to change the oil because you had to take off the hose. Still have the oil return sight glass, which is a must have in my opinion.

Re: 1994 Infiniti Q45 rear mount turbo project

Not bad, what are the stock cc of the injectors? BTW later down the road, a adaptor plate and 300zx TT 5speed trans could make a 5speed swap rather easy :l.

Re: 1994 Infiniti Q45 rear mount turbo project

Stock injectors are 370cc :-\

I found a 350Z 6 speed manual that supposedly had an adapter plate already to fit the VH, It's still available but I couldn't get any proof/evidence that it would really fit. I don't know if I'd say "easy" swap. lol. I'm sure the drive shaft would need to be replaced, have to mount/fabricate a clutch system, and there would be some computer issues to sort out as well. That would be awesome tho. Someday...
