Made some more progress on the car recently. Had a few maintenance issues to deal with and finally got a bunch of parts installed that I've been sitting on. New Tokico shocks and some lowering springs, adjustable tension rods, new steering boots. Installed a rear sway bar from an active suspension model of my car. I also upgraded the rear diff to a 4.08 which should make for some excellent ripper vids :y The stock diff is a 3.538 ratio.
Started the intercooler install as well. Need to pick up a few tubing U bends and it should go in pretty easily. Attachment 17443 Attachment 17444 |

I agree, pretty excited to see what she'll do with this rear end. I was already breaking the rear end loose from a 20 mph rolling start, should get exciting now. :o

Got the intercooler installed. I think it turned out great. The size was perfect for the Q45. I made new plumbing under the motor and gained about 1.5" of clearance. With the old tube I couldn't even back straight out of my driveway without scraping. Now I can (slowly) without scraping.
As usual I took tons of photos. Shows all the intercooler plumbing and tubing under the motor. Also some pics showing the new stance with the lowering springs/Tokico shocks. I just love that picture of the tailpipes - a WG and turbine for either side. That rearend alone will make a huge difference. The DX to Si difference between FD's is about half that, and ricers everywhere swear it drops their quarter mile in HALF. :y
BTW why do the IM runners drop down like its a traversely-mounted V8? (think FWD Cadillac) I've seen unusual intakes, but that's straight-up retarded. |

I don't know why they did the intake plenum like that. Looks decent in chrome I guess. It's a pain in the but to get off and there are many components under it. You can't even change all the fuel injectors without taking it off. Tons of hoses and the knock sensors are down there as well.

WOW! i found this will i was looking for a turbo setup for my car a 1987 200sx. do you think that this i s a good setup for my car because i have a v6 and no room upfront.

If you do your homework and you do the install right with the right components this can work for any vehicle. I'm a believer in rear mounts and love my setup. Still working great. Been driving it a lot lately. Putting about 80 miles per day on it and still going strong. Latest upgrade is a Moates Ostrich 2 EPROM emulator so I can do real time tuning on the fly. Beats the heck out of swapping EPROM chips. When the weather cools off again in a couple months I will get the dyno done and see what numbers this thing is making.
