Here's where I got the pump in case you are still interested Sceviourzx3.
Shurflo Pump 8000-643-236

My pump just runs all the time. You don't want pressure to build up in your turbo. You just need the flow. I have been meaning to move my pressure sending unit to just after the turbo so I can monitor the pressure in the turbo but haven't done it yet. Another benefit to checking pressure between the turbo and the pump is that you can activate an alarm, light, or something to tell you if the pump fails before you blow your turbo seals.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'd love to see more rear mount projects, let me know when you guys get started.

i think that the best tranns. for it would be the z32tt because it can hold more power or a t5 from a z31 and the adapter plate its a lot of $$$$$$

But the Z32 has the starter on the trans I would think you would want to keep your starter right where it is, making the Z31 preferred and isn't this HMT???? an adapter plate is not beyond the skills or the abilities of the cast of characters that grace this site!!!! seriously, I saw a post over on the NICO forum where a guy took a 6 spd from a 350Z and cut the bell off a VH auto stood the VH block up on the floor water pump down bolted the clutch and flywheel to the VH dropped the tranny with the bell cut off down into the clutch and welded the 350 6 spd to the VH bell housing it was like art work to me !!! those ------ Aussies are god damn amazing sometimes!!! the rest of the time they are just pretty crude. but seriously thats probably not going to work for you but adapters are fairly simple and if you can get your hands on a plasma cutter and a drill press you can cobble one up pretty easy. all you have to do is get a template for your VH bell and a Z31 bell find the flywheel dead center on both templates line up the center's trace out the outlines and bolt holes cut that ---- out of 5/16 or 3/8 steel plate drill the holes and bolt it to your VH with high grade tapered allen heads lock tighted and so on and so on, yes I have built adapters before I put a SBC in a forklift even once because I wasn't going to pay a grand for a flathead continental 4 banger to repower my buddys forklift for him any way this post would have had to go to fabrication had I kept going and I have seen some sick cheap fat holding clutches for Z31 N/A and they are not very expensive and the tranny's are pretty easy to come by I doubt you will blow one with your Q ship but even if you did they are cheap and easy to come by you can hit me back on this if you want to pick my bean or bounce a scheme of me on this, like I said that ride would be hella sleeper with a 5 spd

Wow, very nice work.

qsiguy 08-15-2009 02:20 AM

When/if I do the manual swap I'll be going with the z32 trans.

hunt_x 08-15-2009 05:26 AM

why not go all out baller and drop in a 350Z 6 spd ? that would be dope !! and a sick sleeper !

qsiguy 08-20-2009 03:16 AM

I guess that's a possibility. Just a few more unknowns with the project. Z32 has been done quite a few times on the VH45 engine so I have more info to go by. Doubt either will happen too soon so I'll make that decision when the time comes.
