yep thats what i was trying to do but this dumb *** digial light is differnt it sucks. here are the directions
To Set Intital timing push the up or down button until the idsplay shows the desired degrees of advance setting. View timing marks turn dizzy until moving mark is aligned with stationary 0 degree mark. then tighten. Thanks for the help though i seriously apreciate it.

You can use your timing light just fine, set it to what you want and then you will use the lone mark on the crank pulley that denotes TDC, not the other middle mark in a group of three.
