Nah man, that was your money... I was just holding it. You earned it! By the way, Y8 with 45000 miles since boosted and 25000 since tuned on dyno is still running incredible. Now, if I could just turn up the boost and lean it out overall due to the new fuel pump install...

And for those that are reading this and still want to know more about the Y8 timing, listen to JD, its a simple matter, do not make this harder than it is. Do what he instructed and stop whining. This matter is now closed!

Sorry to be one of those that want to be spoonfed...

If it makes you feel better, I can be forkfed. Anyway, I'm looking for information on the y8 head and the timing... A decent source. My last CRX (RIP) had a z6 block/y8 head and was running on a stock (I think, screws are stripped to open it) p28. Ran shitty, boggy as ----. When I bought the car and drove it home, I called the guy and asked if he knew why the car seemed boggy, the dude (young teen car noob) said it ran just fine. I knew the difference between "running" and "running fine," and the car was not running fine.

He gave me a chipped p28 with the car (it was turbocharged before he got it) and I used my handy willem to burn a new map to the chip. Popped it in and always had a CEL but it ran MUCH better. That was about a year ago and I forget what I did to the map to make it run better, or what map I used, blah blah.

Anyway, my current CRX will also be running a z6 block/y8 head setup. The chipped p28 should still work fine. But it will be boooooooosted. I'd like to get some more info on the y8 timing before I jump into tuning a freshly built setup. Detcan and LC1 won't be sufficient to do a street tune? I hate paying people for ---- I can do myself, and want to avoid the dyno costs until I'm ready to fine tune it. So where's some good y8 timing info?

Take Z6 mappings for NA, set your ignition timing for 10-12 degrees at 10 psi. This will make a decent basemap to tune from, and the engine will likely want more timing in the lower and midrange RPMs, but don't ---- with it until you get it on a dyno.
Saw the summary.

But was looking for > https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...?topic=59894.0

Read it a while back last time I had the issue. Was a bit more in depth, although the summary covers the required bits.
