Mista Bone! I need some transmission advice.
I just bought a 92 GSR. I already grinds a little going into third. I would like to rebuild it and install a set of carbon coated synchros from Gear Speed. So, I have a few questions.
Do I need any special tools to rebuild the transmission? Keep in mind I was a mechanic for a few years so I have lots of tools. Basically, are there any special fixtures and such that I need to get the job done?
Do YS1s typically require an entire bearing kit? The car only has 112k on the clock. If so, where would you suggest getting them from?

Thanks for the replies guys. I might try adding the synchromesh to get me by for awhile. I've also been thinking about replacong the fifth gear with the LS one. Don't know if I will or not but 4k at 70 mph is a bit much.

Every honda tranny I've tore down never needed a gear puller. Most of the gears just slide right off.
