measuring crank for rod and main bearings
i was wondering where i could find the specs for a d16 crank so i can order bearings
dont need to do anything different for a turbo motor as far as bearings right?
just get whichever size is closest?

*sigh* Another novice Honda motor builder. The bearing size for your crank is different from journal to journal. Every d16 motor has a different size depending on castings and machining. The only way to tell what size stock bearings you need is to get a service manual and decipher the codes that are stamped onto the underside of the block. Honda bearings are sized according to "colors", so once you find out what the colors are from your stamp marks, then you can order new ones from honda. Anytime this will be different is if you've had both your crank and your block machined for main bearings. And in which case, if you've had your crank machined then you've lost the nitride coating that honda normally puts on those cranks to help make them harder and stronger. My best advice to you is either do a -----ton more research with a service manual, or take your entire block assembly to a machine shop and have them build it for you. Otherwise you'll end up with a fun 10 minutes of run time, and after that 10 minutes nothing but a ruined block. :P
a piece of advice as well, once you get the bearing you need and assemble the bottom end, buy a strip of Plasticgauge from AutoZone it's only $ .99 and is the only way to have insurance on your buildup.
