im gonna say do the LS. more torque, plus ls's are preetty common when you think about it. and as far as your power goals, i think you could def do 270whp in a stock ls with 12-15psi. at least thats what im hoping for

Only problem is the mileage on most ls motors these days. I mean a 1990 b18a1 is almost 20 years old . Boosting a block that has beat up walls, scored pistons, worn rings well its not the brightest idea

This is where the b20 comes in handy. They can handle up to 400 whp on race gas the walls that is from what I experinced before they start to fall apart like a hotrex manifold

Low milage healthy clean motor vs 20 year old beat up b18a1

Im going for the low mileage

Quit talking out your ***.

you prove a good point. but i lucked out and got one that only had about 125k mi on it. i did timing belt, h2o pump, tune-up, etc. it runs like a top and doesnt smoke one bit. case in point: i got lucky

SOHC for life niggy
I spent under 2K on my built LS including machine work. Forged pistons, rods, block guard, bored to 82mm, balanced rotating assembly, ported head, 3 angle valve job, brian crower dual springs/titanium retainers, crower 404's, blox IM and a 70mm TB from chris on here. this motor is using ALL NEW parts/seals. ITR oil pump, gsr water pump/timing belt. And it is NOT gay.

people on here call it gay because its prolly not boosted. this is homemadeturbo.com, not n/ab18bcrxspentunder2grandonmyfaggotassn/abuild.com

How am I talking out my ***? You've never a seen 300+whp ls? Sorry stock meant with an intake manifold and 15lbs from a decent size turbo. If age is an issue go with a b18b then they were made until 01, no one said it has to be an a1.

An ls all motor with flow/big cams/compression=gangster. Many ways of building cars nothing wrong with all motor/nitrous/supercharger etc. HMT is about DIY not just boost. Look at Jeff he had 2 all motor builds with write ups. That doesnt include the other hald dozen all motor builds he did and he started the damn site.
