can i just punch it out? how much is a new cat.....i will need to take this car through emmisions....

i wouldn't just punch your cat out just yet. buy a spare one and punch IT out, keep yours for emissions.. or buy a test pipe.

The proper way to punch the cat out is to knock out all the ceramic ----, then weld an exhaust pipe so it's just a straight thru shot, and exhaust doesn't bow up in the chamber creating an echo/back pressure.

I should have done a writeup when I just did then a couple months ago.. good thing more cars need it done to them :P

 

i dont have that tube on my car.......the spot where the tube would be is capped off, probably because of the intake on the car, i dont know though becuas ei didint install it. where and how much is a test pipe?
