i turn the key. the motor starts then shuts off within about 3 seconds time. im not hitting the gas pedal or anything. it just starts then shuts off. i can hear the fuel pump going when its starts than i cant when it starts to run. im getting a check engine light 6
any help?

Does it feel like its running out of gas? Try stomping on the gas when it tries to die. Will it continue to start right back each time then die after a few seconds? Have someone put their ear over the gas tank to see if the pump is turning off, or get a test light on it. Might have a bad fuel pump relay. ---- it could be alot of things, but I wouldnt worry about the coolant temp sensor, that shouldnt be anything related.

yea it feels like its running out of gas. when is stomp the pedal it dies quicker. when i leave it just dies a little slower. meaning a second or 2 later. its starts right back up each time i was gonna hook up a fuel pressure gauge and see if the presure is dieing off befoore it shuts off. how do i check for a bad relay? im thinking about putting the stock pump back in and seeing if that works.
would it matter that im running a turbo edit base map with 450s on a NA setup right now?

 

you scaled the map to 450cc injectors right?

 

acutally i think its the map i was using when i had 390s in. will that cause it to mess up like this?. my friend burnt me the chip

 

could be flooding the engine out...

 

i pulled a plug and it was wet. so im assuming thats the problem. im gonna try a new chip and see what happens

 

well i defently think it has to be the fact that i have my te map scaled for 390s and not 450s. its flooding the ---- out of my engine. the plugs are black and wet. do any of you guys know someone who can burn me a base map for 450s?

 

My motor seems to do the same thing, but i dont think im getting fuel?
