cold starts suck....help
Whenever my car sits for say more then three hours it is slow to start, not from the battery side....it just takes a long time to crank up. If it sits for a few days on end it will take like one minute of cranking to start up. The battery is strong, new plugs wires cap rotor fuel filter and fuel pump.....still haveing issues. Anyone have any ideas what this could be. I have a ZC swapped into an 1988 si crx still running the stock ecu.....got a pg7 to swap in when i get the chance though. Is there a sensor or something that is causeing this starting issue?

Re:cold starts suck....help
nah just drop in the pg7.

Re:cold starts suck....help
ok you think that could be causing this issue....the car ran fine for 12k befor it started doing this.......Grrrrr i hate minor problems like this they are so hard to diagnos.....how do i get to the ECU anyway?

Re:cold starts suck....help
the ecu is right where the passenger's feet go.
so you had this EXACT setup fine for 12k then started starting badly.? |
Re:cold starts suck....help
yup....so i started replacing stuff......which is everything on that list.....

Re:cold starts suck....help
you said the battery is "strong" meaning what? it's new? it turns the motor so it's ok, or it's been tested?
what about air filter? |
Re:cold starts suck....help
been tested it is like new......airfilter is new!

Re:cold starts suck....help
Mine used to have a cold start problem. would have to crank for like 4 sec. Didnt notice exactly what fixed it but have replaced battery and fuel filter recently and it starts within 1 sec even after sitting for an entire week.
Maybe a dirty IACV ? |
Re:cold starts suck....help
what is that and how do i fix that bitch!
|
Re:cold starts suck....help
dump the cat (if u haven't already). That will help the motor breathe a lot better on startup.
