Try Water Wetter. If you're using a stock radiator from a 92-95 that may be why too - simply not enough available coolant.

Are your fans kicking on when the car warms up to normal temperature? My Civic's didn't and I just didn't want to ---- with it, so I made sure not to sit in one spot too long.

The stock red from a civic will not make it over heat if it is in good shape.

lifting your head.

let me guess, instant pegged temp gauge and bubbling overflow? *pushing coolant*

get a good brand mls instead of a generic one or get a carbon head gasket for a stock a6...and get arps

happened to me in my last two turbo builds because of a generic "itm" mls head gasket...gasket showed no signs of being blown but the cylinders were pushing pressure into my coolant system. Bought a felpro head gasket for a 91 si and stuck it on (my d16y7) no more coolant pushing problems.

runing without thermostat doesnt means you will get ur engine fully cool.. depending what setup of course water doesnt have enought time to cool...ive seen setups runing without thermostat but with a kinda ring on it for to keep a little speed of waters..

could be HG yes..

is new that radiator?

yeah i would guess your lifting your head since it only happens under heavy load. that or the no thermostat thing, your coolant isnt spending enough time in the radiator to properly cool down. but he water pump thing could be it too. i would just use prosess of elimination to figure it out.
