Default Re:B16 swap in, and it ran (past tense)

I tested my ecu in a crx si today and it started up like it had the stock ecu in it so my ecu is not the problem. It's either the distributor or the wiring, I'm hoping it's the wiring. Can anyone direct me to where teh ecu gets its power?

the integra distributor won't even fit on the cam because one of the legs is in direct conflict with the vtec solenoid. What size are the bolts on the distributor? my 12mm wrench was loose on them (that's how I stripped 2 of them on my d15) and the 11mm doesn't fit on them. If I knew what wrench to use I can use my brother's b16 distributor to see if that's causing the problem.

ya, I was using a 12mm, both sides of the wrench were loose and a socket won't fit on the top bolt because there isn't enough room. I'm pretty sure craftsmen wrenches are accurate.

I checked all my wiring today and I have 12v coming into the ecu from all 3 power wires and it will throw codes when I remove the B and C plugs and just leave the A plugged in. I'm thinking my distributor took a ----, can I swap the insides from my integra distributor and just use the b16 shell?

What are the codes it gives you when you try to start the car?

it won't throw codes when I try starting it no matter how hard I try to make it. with the b and c plugs disconnected I get 6, 10, and 13. those are all sensors that I have hooked up.

I began soldering all my wires today, I had them all bullet connected before. I will finish tomarrow. today I ran out of light and had to get more solder and heat shrink.

dude it sounds like your battery might just be fucked. a battery can be messed up where your lights look bright and everything but not start the car. the starter takes some serious amperage to turn over.

this happened to me and i thought i needed a new alternator but it was just a bad battery.

you should swap in a different battery just to check, dont just jump start it because it could be that 2 cells in your battery shorted on each other.

as far as the oil pan you stripped your block, theres no way to strip a steel bolt in an aluminum block. those bolts only get torqued to something like 10-20 ft lbs, thats almost nothing. anyway you will have to take the oil pan all the way off and retap the block with a larger sized tap to fix it the right way.

zex, it sounds like you are saying my battery is causing the starter to not work, but it does turn, do you mean that the battery could make the starter turn but not turn on the engine? I had it tested and charged at autozone and the machine said that it is a good battery.

I finished soldering everything and it still doesn't start. My main relay is really loud, should it be that loud? it makes clicky kinda noises pretty loud.

I'm thinking my distributor got fucked up somehow. I'm going to try putting my distributor into my brother's B16 civic. I would have done that tonight, but his battery is dead.

any other ideas?
