You are definitely brainwashed by the liberal media. Read a ------- book man and get some facts. Bush is not to blame for the Ecomony. The economy has a natural cycle that it has gone through since the beginning of the 1900's Read a history or economics books and look at a model of the History of the U.S. economy. It is characterized by Recessions followed by Economic Growth followed by a period of Economic stability then back to recession. Recessions cause economic growth. How do they do that you ask? Well I could sit here and write about 20 pages explaining it but Ill give you an example pertaining to our age group. When there is a recession and the job markets are down more people invest in there human capital. For example if you look at rates of graduate school applicants and students during a recession compared to when we are in a period of economic prosperity you would clearly see that during the recession the percentages are much greater. Why do they do this? Because it is easier to stay in school than get a job during a recession. Once these people graduate normally near the end of the recession, they create businesses, get jobs and whatever else they do. I could go into huge detail But the point is that societies with a higher percentage of highly educated people are more economically prosperous and grow much faster its a fact that cant be argued.

Yeah in 20 years we're going to be so far in debt its going to be said.
Its true Bush doesn't have direct control of the economy but whenever he speaks, he effects investors. When he sets the terror alert to orange, people pull out investments and interest rates fall because they naturally feel safer having their money with them.
This has sucked *** for me, because I make a living off of the interest of the money I have. When we were at like 8% (during Clintons administration) my grandparents were generating over $80,000 a year just from interest now we're lucky to make $20,000 if we find a bank willing to pay enough for a 24 month CD. and no I'm not investing in a trust or mutual fund, I want to make sure the money is going to be there when I need it, and not disappear suddenly
The other problem is that greenspan is a ------- moron who needs to be shot. WTF is this ---- about cutting social security? Boy you poor baby boomers I piety you, all that hard work you did and had what, 4-8% of every paycheck cut out only to learn that you're going to have to find another way to retire?
The reason he's being forced to do this is because he has to comply with Bush's demand to make up for his military spending.
Another fact is that EVERY military servant has taken a paycut in the passed year, to help support this war that will never end.
Thats why I say this country is so fucked, I'm not a Kerry fan either and I'm really sick of picking the lesser of two evils.
But if anything everyone on this god damn board should vote thats what this ------- country was made for.

The only good candidate I saw this year was Kucinich but he never stood a chance, he wasn't a pretty boy or a millionare (like a certain oil loving president). But he was extremely liberal and he would have made this country grow into something stronger then what it is now by unifying us legally.
If Kerry wins I gurantee that the economy will recover, its a historical fact that EVERY time there is a republican president the economy takes a nasty hit.
The way I also see this... Bush only got into office because during the 2000 elections our country was at its heighth, thanks to Clinton. We had no worries about foreign affairs, we had no economical worries, so people just didn't vote they didn't care.
Well hopefully this time they'll realize the mistake they made. Though I don't know if Gore would have been any better but I gurantee my friend in Iraq would not have been shot down in a black hawk.

also... the way we fight wars these days relies much more on technology and less on numbers of ground soldiers, so a draft would be unneccesary unless we find ourselves in WW3

You 100% right but you CAN blame Bush for the actions he is taking to correct the economy. Depending on the Government action taken to correct the economy will decide how much the economy will fluctuate. A president can extend a resession by taking the wrong actions.
I hate Bush and think there are many reasons why he should go but People have to realize that ANY economic action takes time for its effect to be felt. A policy enacted to change the economy takes years for its action to be felt. You can't enact a policy and think it'll change something overnight.
Bush needs to go though, ---- the republican party, if you want to live like a republican, vote democrat.
