ALl I did was go to device mangler, select the WIreless adapter (IT WAS showing up, but still banged out)... select update driver and then point to the CD|Drivers|Vista\X64 directory... WOrks like a charm mang.

Running like a track star on this Dual proc Dual core AMD 64 setup too son!!! Its fast as ---- when you enable dual processors in MSCONFIG...

Yeah, I tried the Linksys drivers, then the Ralink drivers (they make the chipset in the Linksys card) and it acted like it installed, but didn't. It doesn't even show the card as a wireless networking card, just says "networking adapter." I planned on throwing in my Vista disc and loading the drivers from that, but you're saying it's on the Win7 ISO?

Didn't make sense to me that Vista installed it from the first boot with no issues, but Win7 didn't and won't. I was thinking maybe the Win7 disc just didn't come with the drivers, but that didn't really explain why the ones from Linksys/Ralink weren't working. I'll try searching for the drivers on both the Vista and Win7 discs.

Now, what msconfig tweak are you talking about? I've never had to alter msconfig and have done encoding/unrar-ing/etc putting all 4 cores at 100% load. Is that only for multiple processors and not multi-core?

oh yeah, device mangler lolz

Ahh yeah i know what your saying, I enabled that to. I love dual dual core's :-)

But I didn't really notice a speed difference when I did it, other then loading.. Probably because almost every prog I use is 32

He means dual processors, not dual cores. 99% of applications aren't multi-threaded, so multiple cores wouldn't make a bit of difference. It'll change in the next few years.

The Intel quad I have is just two dual core procs shoved on one die, so runs just as well.

BDVT, the installer programs would seem to work, but device manager still would show it without drivers. I also tried browsing to the directories of the drivers last night and it still wouldn't work. So far, it's a no-go.

WRT54G v1, the original linksys wireless adapter.

Might not need to write a bug...I'll just hope it's fixed in the final version.

As in v1.0, not v1.1? If anything ever happens to it or you upgrade, sell me the Broadcom mini-PCI transmitter card out of it? I've been meaning to replace my old T20's LAN card with a wifi unit, and that thing is the ticket.

Yeah, v1.0. I'm trying to keep it due to the broadcom chipset that allows monitoring mode in case I am ever homeless and need to crack some poor soul's wep/wpa network, but if Win7 doesn't work with it I'll be upgrading to a $20 300mbps 802.11n adapter.
